On 26 May 2022 ZZMO CITENERGO, Slovak non-profit association of towns and municipalities for sustainable energy efficiency in cooperation with SEMMO, the Czech Association of Local Energy Managers, are organising a special event connected with SECAP Peer Review & Covenant of Mayors in the city of Brno, the Czech Republic.
The event aims to:
- increase Slovak and Czech local authorities’ capacity and knowledge to mitigate;
- adapt to climate change with focus on developing and implementing ambitious middle-term strategies and SECAPs.
The event willl address those municipalities that have been planning to implement SECAPs in their territories and are interested in learning about how to finance such action plans in the connection with the new Covenant of Mayors targets.
It will bring together representatives of Slovak and Czech municipalities and also Slovak and Czech national experts, including experts from the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM) in Germany. Workshops and round tables will facilitate knowledge exchange and information sharing about adaptation and mitigation measures among progressive and aspiring municipalities from Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The event also focuses on the implementation of country-specific tasks related to the Covenant of Mayors – Europe with the aim of ensuring a deeper anchoring of the initiative into the national and supranational frameworks.
The event will be held in Czech, Slovak and German and simultaneous interpretation in/from German will be provided.
